Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more!

Hello Dear Theatre Teachers -

I hope this first blog of the school year finds you back in your classrooms, well-rested and inspired to practice your craft!

When you have a moment, please email me your teaching schedule and course outlines.

As always, if there is anything that I can do to support your program, give me a holler!  I love to come out and visit, brainstorm, assist with lesson planning, lead a specialty workshop,  watch a rehearsal, etc...

MUCH ADO ABOUT FEES

As you probably know, there has been a lot of talk in our community about not charging any fees to SDUSD students.  Some of you may have charged "production" fees in the past and this is something you can no longer do.

Here are some things you CAN charge for:
  • Tickets to performances that are not mandatory
  • Food/Concessions (consider selling snacks/water at rehearsal as a fundraiser)
  • Field Trips, Transportation and Show Tickets
  • Costume rental (even if it is from your own stock)
  • Eye protection (safety glasses for tech kids)
You man still fundraise as long as it voluntary for students and not a requirement for a class or participation in an event.
